Group & Private Lessons

Fun. Encouraging. Unforgettable.

Whether you’re stepping onto the dance floor for the first time or looking to refine your technique, DanceSport Boston offers a welcoming space to learn, grow, and fall in love with the art of ballroom dance.

Our group classes are filled with energy, laughter, and connection. They’re the perfect way to meet fellow dancers, gain confidence, and learn in a fun, social environment. You’ll explore a variety of ballroom and Latin styles—both American and International—while developing rhythm, coordination, and a deeper sense of movement, all at your own pace. Everyone supports each other, and progress happens naturally, one joyful step at a time.

Prefer a more personalized approach? Our private lessons are tailored just for you. Whether you're preparing for a special event, building competitive skills, or simply wanting focused attention, you’ll receive expert instruction that’s aligned with your goals. We break things down clearly, guide you with patience, and celebrate every milestone.

At DanceSport Boston, the atmosphere is always warm, inviting, and encouraging. From your very first lesson, you'll feel right at home. We’re here to help you become the best dancer you can be—while having a great time doing it.

The private classes are terrific - as you get one-on-one instruction, which enables you to improve your dance skills at a faster speed. This is a great resource for someone who has always wanted to try ballroom dancing (but is nervous to try it solo), for a couple looking to inject a little romance into their relationship, or a bride/groom to be trying to 'up their dance game for their wedding. I've met some terrific people here and look forward to continuing my dance lessons for years to come.

My husband and I joined Dancesport Boston after going to another studio for 15 months. We are SO happy that we made the switch. They have the best teachers who truly care about their students (and not just for money). We've taken private lessons with the instructors and even performed at a holiday show with 3 other couples choreographed by Anne Marie. Everyone is so welcoming and the best part is the teachers don't hold back when you're ready to learn more - they encourage it!

We started taking ballroom lessons for our daughter's wedding. After three months, I could lead our daughter through a rumba that wasn't going to win anything on DWTS, but it wasn't bad either. After the wedding, we decided to stick with it and see where it went. Where it went was, when our other daughter got married a couple years later, we did a whole lot of dancing beyond doing the Father/Daughter dance. So ballroom dancing has become a thing that we can do together and enjoy.

We needed lessons before our daughter's wedding at which a Swing band was to perform. John did the impossible and made us competent at basic Fox Trot and Swing in just about six weeks. Remarkable considering I had not danced before and am lacking in any natural ability. The lessons piqued our interest and we've continued group lessons with Anne Marie in a variety of dances. They are both terrific teachers; so knowledgable and patient. And the people we've met could not be nicer.
